I also have a 55 that is incredibly mellow. I play that through two 21H's. I would not change the sound of that organ... But when I want a lot of balls and spit (bad analogy, I know), I play my 59 or 61.

Subject: [CWSG] To change caps in tone generator or not?

Hello group, I have been recently thinking about possibly changing out the caps in my 1955 B3. This organ I own has seen alot of road use. About 4 years ago I had everything taken out and cleaned, at that time I decided not to mess withe the TG on advice of the friend who was helping me.

Here is the deal though: I feel like "something" is missing from the sound of this organ. The best way to describe it is whenever I play all drawbars out with a church like sound, it sounds thinner overall than my good friend's Hammond.

I feel like it is a lack of mids and some highs but dont know for sure. I know all Hammonds are not created equal and I accept that however if by doing this I can acquire that full sound I desire I will take the time and spend the money.

My fear is that after I do this, the sound will not have changed and I will have to be content with the sound the way it is currently, which is fine. Another possibility is replacing the TG altogether. I dont know if that is a good idea though?

Any thoughts or experiences appreciated!

Thanks
