Subject:Midi Pedalboard

I'd like to hook up a midi pedalboard to play via VB3. I could buy (an expensive) pedalboard, but I'd rather turn this into a little project on the cheap. I have a pedalboard that I pulled out of an old Conn organ, and a KeyRig 25 midi controller board that's just laying around. I want to wire the pedalboard through the keyboard - basically the switches in the pedals control the keys and and convert the pedalboard to midi. Anyone done a project like this and could offer some practical guidance/advice?
