Ok I got it now. I notice depending on how hard you lean on the bars, the click feel becomes more or less evident. But there's still that "da-da-da-da" type tone when you pull the bars out while holding a single note for example vs. sweeping an oscillator on a synth, there's no stutter.

And kudos btw on your most excellent controller.

Yes, smooth dbs still have a click, some more than others. The actual
physical difference is that the db has 2 contacts instead of 1. They bridge
the db bus wires so that one of them is always in contact.

The old ones had the single contact that would break before making the next
contact, hence dead spots that were easy to hit.
