I just picked up three of these:

*They are under $300 (US street, each) for 4 individually-controllable
LED lights, mounted on a bar, with tripod stand and soft case. They can
do rudimentary things with the included pedal control (including
master/slave), but are *much* better under DMX control. Add a simple
DMX controller like this one:

*for $80-100US and a few DMX cables and a terminator, and you're ready
to go. Small, light, and very configurable.
