I see the CONTROLblade and the bigger STUDIOblade as being just that, a great studio tool. Mike inputs, disk burning, wifi, etc., all would come in very handy in a home studio. I personally don't need that stuff. Hey, I lusted after the Neko when it was first introduced. Unfortunately - for them - the laptop/controllers system really came together with Mainstage, and even Ableton Live, soon after.
