Subject:Re: Korg BX-3 Opinions Sought
I've got a CX-3 and play it (if that's what someone wants to call it) into a
PA through a PAIA stereo tube preamp.
The preamp wasn't intended to cut the shrill, and it doesn't. The one post
a few back about this arrangement
being like putting a tube preamp on a mic on a Leslie seems right on. The
preamp is too late in the chain
to accomplish what you want. I also agree that there are some audio
artifacts (beating) between notes and
drawbar arrangements. Since I've never played with a real Hammond, I don't
know if that's intended or not.

Subject: [CWSG] Re: Korg BX-3 Opinions Sought
When I got my BX-3(v2) I tried going the EQ route, and it worked, to some
degree. However I found running through some tubes really opened up the
sound in addition to taming the harshness. I should point out that I'm
running my BX-3 in stereo mode through a somewhat expensive tube preamp and
through a pair of tube power amps. Even so I think running stereo through a
tube preamp alone will make a world of difference. I'd go that route.
Good luck.
