Subject:Roland JV 880 Programming patches for live use?
Hi gang,
>
I know that a number of you are quite
technologically gifted and I am not. The problem I am facing is two-fold, I just
joined a new band which requires a limited number of patches that I have to play
during a 90 minute show. I want to use my two Roland JV880 modules one
controlled by my Edirol PCR M80 midi-controller, and the other by my Roland
RS-5. Each of the modules have expansion boards and I would like to be able to
call up no more than 6-7 patches in total from each module ,and have quick
access to them so I am not fumbling around on my controllers trying to access
them, while playing. I know there is something called a performance mode and I
think I can program them so I can access up to seven separate patches, but I am
not certain. I know this is really old technology, but I think the Rhodes
patches, strings, Wurlizter and few organ patches from the Vintage key expansion
should be fine. Any one out there ever own and program one of these units? Your
help would really be appreciated.
