My first clone was a CX. The thing got intermittent shortly after I
bought it new from GC. It would get low in volume on the gig and it was
all I could to get the volume back was to smack the bottom of the unit
till it came back, Ribbon type connectors are famous for going out. I
have a Marshall JTM30 amp that does that often. Cool amp, bad design.
Volume gets low all of a sudden. Its a tube amp but those plastic
ribbon connectors aren't the most reliable. I'm surprised to find out
Korg didn't learn from the CX first versions to make better
connections.

I had a similar problem on my BX-3 after about three years. In my
case,
the lower manual would only stay on Preset 2. A reseating of the
cables
fixed the problem. It's not a *guarantee*, but it's a very likely
scenario.
