If phase cancelation did not work on Hammon you cold not use a Leslie 122.
The G+ terminals are 180 deg out of phase and are feed to the diff input of 122. Any hum that is picked up on the way is cancelled out.
This is the basis of any balanced system.

The problem with Hammon vs clone is that they would have to behave exactly the same to make it possible to have zero sum.
And that is the whole point of such an experiment. If you state that you have an exact replication the sum should be zero.
The closer you are the lower the residual signal would be.
So an old korg cx3 from the 80's would have a very large residual component.
A Nord, Mojo, KeyB, NewB3 would have a much smaller sum residual.
He who has the lowest wins :) that round.
Then you have all the other parameters that makes a clone suit your needs. Price , size, weight and what have you.
