Would you agree that two identical signals where you phase shift one 180 and then add them has the sum 0. Feed to + and - input of a differential amp the output would be zero?

I know I was in contact with Guido some years ago asking him if his tg model was phase locked. And I think he measured a Tg and came to the conlcusion that the wheels shift their positions somewhat at start up. I dont think they drift during normal operation since that over time would wear out the spring couplers and the plastic gear.
