You didn't mention which pedal model it is, but from your description
of connectors it looks like a pedal which can be used with proper
Roland instruments for more positioned or even continuous Sustain
(quarter sustain, half sustain...) and other parameters (Soft,
Sostenuto, maybe more). Some better digital pianos can produce such
effect. Maybe inside isn't switch but pot and it needs to get voltage
from instrument. This will hardly work with mono jack Sustain pedal
input which expects only simple switch.
