Subject:Hammond SK1 update 6

So, I finally installed the latest (release 6, v1.400) firmware for the
SK1. While it hasn't fixed the sample noise issue I can hear, it has
completely changed the instrument for the better...

*Finally*, the SK1 can trigger organ sounds from the first contact only and
EVs from the lower contact, and keeps the machine in line with the XK
series. This requires a single parameter change to enable, and means that
the slightly stiff action is now much more comfortable to play organ
(easier for smears, squabbling, glissandos etc), but still allows fairly
expressive playing on pianos and EPs.

IMO this update puts the keyboard up with the big boys as far as the
clonewheel side of things goes. Now, if they could fix that sample noise
issue my only remaining major niggle would be gone.

For those that are interested, the US site does not have the update on it
yet - you need to get it from the Suzuki JP site (fairly easy to navigate
if you use Google Chrome and the auto translate option).
