I would just want it to sound great. I don't think I've done a gig where I wasn't in the house in probably 30 years. Even in rehearsals I'm in the house.
Don't be playing too loud, you'll end up like me - sentenced to the remainder of my career in molded musician's earplugs, desperately trying to keep the tinnitus from getting any worse. Trust me, it ain't the same.
