Lou,
Thanks for the info. I will definitely try the Art Tube MP Studio. Only wish they made somthing in that price range in a rack mount.
Sounds like I may need to get a different tube for the Art Tube for best results.
I have not played out in some time, although I have recently hooked up with a guitarist - have to see where that leads.  I do some recording off the mixer phone jack directly into a Tascam DR 07 with pretty good results. Thanks again for the info.
Leo

Leo,

The only reason I use a Speakeasy pre-amp today is because it has an output that matches the Leslie 145's input (making it look like a real Hammond is driving the Leslie amp).  One time before I had the Art Tube pre-amp, I did run the line out of the Speakeasy into the Vent for an outdoor gig.  In my estimation, it was not any better of a sound than the Art Tube pre-amp offered.  It would have had to make an enormous difference in sound to convince me to spend the extra money for a Speakeasy pre-amp.

Will you be using your setup for recording?  If not, and you will be mostly using your setup for live performance and practice, I would definitely use the Art Tube pre-amp.  I think PA speakers will modify the sound much more than a pre-amp.

Lou
