It is a modulation to a dry tone. In other words, rather than a steady tone occurring when holding a key down there is a waving or warble to to it. On the organs discussed here it usually happens in upper octaves on certain intervals but you have to listen very carefully to hear it.

I have never heard of Harmonic Beating ....so could someone explain it to me ....

Or is it when the rest of the band says to me ..."no harmony on this tune Mike .."
