Subject:Re: Transpose a B3?

Been there. We were to play an outdoor peace rally circa 1970. Everything
was fine when the guitarist and bass player tuned up off of my C3.
(Remember the days when guitarist' had to have an ear before electronic tuners?) As
soon as everyone kicked in on the first song down went the organ. Had to
do the rest of the concert with just my Whirly. Was a lot of fun actually
since we were doing all originals and no one was any the wiser. A few of the
tunes we continued using the Whirly after that. Sometimes snafus can lead
to good things. ORF Bob

Here’s a question for you genuine Hammond players…Can it be transposed by
using a different frequency of electricity? 60 Hz, 50 Hz…??? I’ve heard
horror stories from players that had power from generators that caused their
B3 to play about half a step down…Any truth to this?
