Subject:TRANSPOSITION: Re: 30 yr old Korg BX3 question
Daniel,
It works quite well in any situation that can be conventionally notated ... better in many cases than standard notation once one is fluent in the system(s).
I believe that the nuances of an alternative, non-key-specific notation system are probably outside the scope of legitimate discussion for a clonewheel-specific forum and learning the conventions are more akin to learning an entirely different musical language that, in essence, says the same thing, only using a different "alphabet."
If you are truly interested learning more about the intricacies and nuances of the Nashville Number System, there are many excellent resources on the Internet and I would respectfully suggest that you seek them out. I only mentioned it to begin with because of the current "issue" of transposition which, outside of key-relevant fingering concerns, the Nashville notation system largely solves.
Peace,
Fox
