Two different types here mixed - some of them are electronic, voltage
types, for connection to dedicated pedal jacks on instruments. They
have cable with stereo (TRS) jack and can be programmed for different
functions inside instruments (like excellent Yamaha FC7).
The other are audio, go-through pedals, for passive volume control,
usually without cable, for connection between the instrument and next
equipment. They can be mono or stereo. They use audio pots directly on
output signal so it can have usual pot problems after years.
