Subject:Gear and power strips

Between 2 keyboards, a Leslie sim, an EQ, 2 amps, and a preamp, like many of you I need an AC power strip or 2 for my gear. They all have surge protectors on them but is that good enough? Also when in a hurry to breakdown I will just shut everything off at the same time with the power strip switches. Is this or turning them on (with switches in the on position) bad for the gear?
