Subject:Re: Getting To Finally See & Hear The Studiologic NumaOrgan
I'm pretty sure that the issue I experienced with my Numa locking up was this ribbon contact strip that was mentioned in the attached post. My lookups always occurred when I was changing Drawbars or pressing on the control panel. Unfortunately in the middle of a couple of gigs! If this problem has been addressed then I would expect the Numa is a great buy now, it's certainly a great sounding clone!
I think that my problems getting support were a result of me buying it directly from the distributor very early before the support structure was completely established. As a result of slow response to my inquiries from the distributor, I tried getting support directly from studiologic. That was a disaster... If I recall correctly they responded to an email I sent in may.june of 2011' in February of 2012 and told me it was because of a snow storm. Pretty funny at the time especially since I had returned my Numa about 7 months earlier!
I don't think my experience with their support is typical, and if I was looking for a single manual clone I would probably give the Numa another try!

I have heard that the issue is 99 percent
of the time due to the ribbon contact strip that goes from the manuals to
the control electronics . I have heard Studiologic is securing the strip
more solidly in the 2012 series that started shipping out this March.
If you are thinking of buying a Numa check for serial numbers past 000
something with digits ending at about 275. That will be the latest issue of the
Numa.
If you have service issues, the man to talk to is Hy Grauer at American
Music and Sound. I don't know why Craig had so much trouble contacting them.
AM and S is located in Montreal and Craig is in Toronto.... so I am not sure
what the problem could have been.
The Numa warranty is two years incidently
