Like Bobby, I had a KC-500 for years.. ACTUALLY  I had 2, and I often used them in stereo..
 
From my experience (and looking back a little older and wiser), I think the bottom end breaks up too easily under load, and I always found them a little muddy/boomy in the mids.  My band seldom has any PA reinforcement, and we play pretty loud classic rock (lots of deep purple), so I need lot's of volume off the stage..  and with the KC500's I seemed to always be riding the line where it starts to break up, which is why I opted to get a second one so I could improve my stereo image, and get better presence/projection at lower levels.
 
Eventually I updgraded to the KC-880 thinking that the top of the line Keyboard Amp should be better, and it was pseudo stereo..  but you know what, it was the same thing.. the bottom end would break up too.. perhaps not quite as easily as the KC-500 but it was just the same.  So within a month, I returned the KC-880 AND bought a pair of QSC K10's and I have never been happier.. I couldn't get the bottom end to break up on these if I tried.
 
I think that for some the KC series may be great, they're certainly reliable and built like tanks (and weigh about as much as a tank)..  if you're working at low to moderate volume they work fine but I just found that you couldn't push them, AND the louder they get the muddier they sound.   Just my experience..

I've had my KC-500 for a dozen years and hundreds of shows. It's showing its age, but has always sounded great. I keep the three tone controls set flat, which is a sure sign of a well-balanced amp.
