Subject:Re: Clonewheel Community Site - was Some extensive ventilating

Hi Mark,

I totally agree with you. I massively dislike forums (especially as
badly set out as Keyboard Corner) and find them very hard to follow,
even with RSS readers involved. I would like to see the site as a
reference for this group, providing the things you mentioned - ie a
knowledge base / reference / archive etc.

As an example, I think it would be very helpful to have recordings of
the various clones from their line outs (with and without the leslie
sims on), perhaps even from the same source midi files. If a kind soul
with a ventilator, preamp, or other device was to play some of the
recordings through the device we could get an idea of how these
devices sound on a variety of gear when played through our own
amplification setups.

I totally agree with you regarding colour schemes and fonts too - I'm
very much a fan of usability and aesthetics with electronic gear. If
we base part of the site on Mediawiki (the software used for
Wikipedia) we will probably get a good starting point theme wise
anyway.

Regards

James
