Subject:Re: 825 Conversion (to 860)
I did the same thing to my 825 and 130 except I made the upper rotor a separate top box to make it easier to carry on both as I was afraid I would lose bass response with an upper shelf. I think your motor probably came from an organ with an internal Leslie built in. Neat idea for the louvers. Just wondering if your portholes block much treble sound? I and most I have seen on 1 rotor Leslie conversions cut one rectangle on each side. I just covered mine with speaker grille cloth. Where did you find the X-over? I used 800 hz Hi and Lopass filters and a Selenium driver from Partsexpress in the 130. I changed the 130's rotor to a wood one to slow it down a bit and put a v21 driver in that. As soon as I figure out how to post pix here I'll put some in that section. Both sound great but the 130 has more bass for some reason and the 825 more treble as the Selenium driver is brighter than the V21.

Subject: [CWSG] 825 Conversion (to 860)
Just added pictures & info on my project to add a top rotor to an old 825 I had. Worked out better than I could have hoped.
Files > Spinners > Leslie > 825 Conversion (860)
Only thing is, I got a 2 speed motor stack on ebay a while back that I don;t think is from a leslie. Never saw anything like it, but it works great.
Only concession is the 3-way x-over that I found is rated at 100w (plenty for an 825) with x-over points of 800 & 5000, but using the woffer & mid outputs work fine - plug and go for less than $20. If I can find another motor set, I have a 130 I want to convert, and I'll use the HF output of the 3-way x-over to power the HF tweeter.
