Subject:Re: V-Machines that didn't work for me,

Hello Ramon,

There were several problems. And I have now tried two V-machines.

First of all, when the V-Machine was powered up, I connected my USB stick with the vxf VB3 library file on the stick, and as I understand it, I should have been able to press the two top buttons, to access Global Memory to load the file onto V-Machine. However when I pressed the two buttons, all that happened was that the lcd screen showed the words 'V-Machine' and the current os.
So I could only access the inbuilt sample-Tank presets.

As I understand it, I should have been able to run VB3 directly off the USB stick without even having to load it onto V-Machine's hard-drive, but when I scrolled through the presets only Sample-Tank's were accessible.

The Usb stick has a built in led and it flashes when it was plugged in so the V-Machine acknowledged that it was connected. I also tried another USB stick to be sure it wasn't the USB stick that was faulty.

Also when I tried to sync the V-Machine with the laptop with a USB cable plugged into the bottom USB socket, it installed the drivers when it was connected, but refused to acknowledge the existence of the V-machine in VXF. When I checked devices ( in my computer screen ) connected to the laptop, V-Machine didn't show up at all.

I tried this with two separate laptops, one running Windows 7 and the other windows xp. Same result, zilch.

When I tried to update the firmware, and pressed the two update buttons on the V-Machine, vxf software said, 'updating firmware', so the vxf program did see that I had pressed the correct two buttons on the machine, but then nothing happened at all. Windows 'waiting circle' just circled round.

So my laptops both connected sufficient for vxf to see I had pressed the two buttons on V-Machine yet said 'No V-Machine@ when I tried to sync.

( For others reading this, the sync function is like itunes )
VXF software on the PC is a mirror of the software on the V-Machine.)

I would love to use V-Machine rather than the netbook.

I have asked Thomann's repairs department to contact the manufacturer.

From what I have written, does it seem to you that the fault lies with the machine and not with this old guy who is trying to get it to work?

Thanks, Thomas
