partially agree, if you listen to the temps version the 3rd is avoided in the backing track it seems. BUT.... play the vocal melody folks..

no F# in there anywhere, the melody is clearly minor.

Its been shifted up to F# proper as the original record is just slightly off pitch, somewhere between keys of F and F#. Play along with this and then try a full Eb major over that verse.. i rest my case.
