I'm sure a lot of you guys know this... The verse is D major or D minor?

I was surprised to see that almost all the sheet music says D minor and
almost all the internet tabs say D major.

My ear says it's not even a question .. I was surprised when a guy in the
group felt differently.

Major & minor grates on my ear so differently.

What say you?
