I did a series of gigs with my EON15G2's as PA mains, and using the
vocalists SRM450 PA rig as my keyboard monitors. The EONs were
smoother sounding out front, had more bass coverage, and filled the
rooms better. Usually we had the SRM450's out front with an 1801 sub,
but we couldn't get the sub to some of the gigs hence the swap. Even
after a number of gigs I didn't like the SRM450s - they were better
than the SRM350s I previously had, but only marginally. They still
compressed the sound and sounded quite honky at typical function band
volumes, especially on piano sounds. EPs and organ sounded fine,
acoustic pianos, strings honked. I'm not even convinced the SRM450
sounded much better than the cheap Behringers (b210d), other than they
went louder.

However, having bought the Leslie 2101 mk2 I'm not sure I need much
else for small gigs. I get a nice stereo spread for pianos (if not a
huge amount of bass with everything flat, but that doesn't matter on
small gigs) and plenty of punch. It sounds great on EPs, and awesome
on the organ now I've changed the tube for a vintage Mullard. I can
see why everyone raves about the ventilator too - the older built in
sims seem to get so much wrong, especially the Nord Stage classic -
there seems to be be far too much top end making it through the sim to
me?
