Subject:Re: I'd like to use VB3 with a netbook with Asio4all driver. Any-one doing that?
Well, I've just bought an HP Mini 210 Beats with 2.1 processor, 1 gig DDR3 ram, netbook running Windows 7 starter.
Now waiting for delivery. My old Windows XP laptop was a Pentium 1.6 and ran VB3 nicely in VSTHost. It just glitches once every 3 to 4 minutues with a slight digital scratch sound lasting less than a second, like a buffers problem, which is annoying as otherwise it runs like a dream. Hopefully the netbook will not have any issues.
I was hoping to use a V-machine but having tried two of them, I couldn't get either of them to recognise either of two laptops, nor any USB sticks I plugged into them. These V-machines are now being sold for a song at Thomann in Germany, such a pity they don't seem to work.
As it goes, I am controlling VB3 with a Nord C1 which is perfect for the job ( drawbuttons aside ) and VB3 os 1.4 is absolutely incredible.
The fixed speed Leslie 147 ( ie. not adjustable ) latest of Guido's Leslie simulators is amazing, and the tonewheel modelling is just about perfect. Pretty much turns my C1 into a Crumar Mojo.
