There are also people on this list who probably know a lot more about the characteristics of the actual speakers under heavy load.
I spent a year playing synth bass for an impossibly loud band, and there's a big difference in sound when you have the capacity to get some slight "warm" distortion from the woofers as well. This isn't how you go about doing a perfect full-range stereo emulation of something else, but there's a lot to be said for using lower wattage speakers when trying to get a good balance of both. While I'm more of a single-manual occasional lead player, sometimes I really need something that cuts in an imperfect stage situation. The K10s seem to do that pretty well. But then so does a Fender Deville, perhaps even moreso when you're playing the right sounds. -pc
