Painful wasn't it? Something I'm sure you'll always remember :) I recall a time playing for a country house band in the late 70's in Baltimore and blowing a chord change in "Color My World." I played that song with solid chords on the B3 and the broken chords on my Fender Rhodes. That and just the drummer and bass player. Somehow I lost my place for a chord change on the organ and the result was... well I still remember it over 30 years later. It was loud and the stage lights were right on me. I am cringing right now just thinking about it. It didn't last for 45 seconds though, thank God !

Last night my band was doing a rare wedding gig and began to play Roy Orbison's Oh, Pretty Woman, which has a couple of bars of 2/4 in it. Our old bass player used to ignore these bars and play it in straight 4/4 time. Last night our new bass player, me and the guitarist were playing the tune correctly, but the drummer started to play it like our old errant bassist. When he realized how we were playing it, he began to play it correctly, but by then, the rest of us started to ignore the 2/4 bars. The the drummer went back to 4/4 to align with us, but by then the rest of us stumbled back to adding the 2/4 bars. Talk about 45 seconds of pure cluster ##$^%%$#!!!##@*%#.....
