It's your audio driver. Buying dedicated hardware will likely fix the
problem (they usually come with an ASIO driver) but you can use ASIO4ALL
(www.asio4all.com) with your existing hardware).

Subject: [CWSG] Help with VSThost
After reading the earlier threads on VSTi's I have put my toes in the water
and installed VSTHost and some VSTi's. I am using a Casio WK7500 (USB midi)
as a keyboard controller and routing the signal into a laptop via USB port
and the audio from the laptop headphone socket back to the Casio's inbuilt
speakers.
My issue is with latency. Using the ComboV (Vox Continental)VSTi emulation
it all works but there is severe latency. The Laptop is a 12 month old Dell
with Intel Core Duo2 with 4 gig ram, Win XP SP3.
