To do that you would need a 1/8" trs (3.5mm) to stereo 1/4" trs or separated true mono (left-right) 1/4" mono connectors to go into two channels on the mixer. This way you have separate control of both channels.

I purchased a stereo to mono cable to go from stereo out on a laptop to mono 1/4" in on a DI box, however if you are going into a mixer couldn't you go stereo into the one of the mixer's stereo channels and mono out of the mixer to pa/amp?
