Subject:Re: My new Behringer speakers

Gentlepersons--The practice of "stenciling", a name which comes from the old practice of putting your store name on a generically manufactured piano, is quite common in the music business.  I remember the first time I looked into the "Leslie" cabinet of a Hammond T spinet (the one which had two removable cabinets) to find that Yamaha had built the rotary speaker...

I was an organ staff artist for Baldwin right out of college (One misspent year) and I recall Kawai making the "Howard" 5'5" grand for us.  Let us all remember that even the mighty Yamaha piano that we probably all know and respect was virtually a piece of "junk" back in the late Sixties...I tried a 9' grand from that era and was SHOCKED at the instability and latitude of the action.

Don't even get me started on the automobile business...I will say that I drive a Cooper S--Engine is French, transmission is Japanese, body work is Brit, I think, and the design and quality algorithm is German.  While it is an elite and awesome sportscar, I prefer to think of it as "British" and fly a Union Jack on the rear window, but that's just for fun.

No, EVERYTHING is stenciled these days. Where I am going to draw a line in my own personal sand from now on will be products made in Mainland China.  I have had it with outsourcing.  No more.  This includes Eddie Bauer clothing, shoes, watches...Almost anything you can think of.  I AM GONNA READ LABELS.

My best to you all, personally.  Enjoy reading your conversations.
