Subject:OT RECORDING SOFTWARE
I'm curious to know what folks on this list are using for recording software.
I recently switched back to Mac and my first venture into recording software has been the Presonus Studio One Pro pack.
It's been an absolute nightmare and after 3 weeks I'm still not able to record midi tracks. No one seems to have a clue why.
Tech support is nonexistent on this product. Sweetwater is at a loss to find anyone who knows how it works.
Presonus only wants to send chat messages back and forth.
I've tried Groove 3 videos and You Tube with no luck at all.
SO, it's going bye bye.
I need a program that has extensive midi recording functions. I need it to be able to record audio and convert midi tracks to stereo audio.
Mastering is absolutely necessary.
And a wide variety of soft instruments.
Basically, all the functions that Presonus says Studio One has if it works.
The Mac guys all shuddered when I mentioned I had bought Studio One.
When I asked about Logic and the ease of setting up midi tracks they shook their collective heads.
I messed with it at the Apple store and it's about as intuitive as making an atom bomb.
There has to be a product on the market that does all of these things in a cost effective package.
Unfortunately Sonar does not make a Mac version.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Chuck
