Get yourself one of the car stereo ground loop eliminators. Usually L/R RCA
in to L/R RCA outs. You may have to get a couple of adapters but this will
work.Of course unless you want to spend money on a high end interface.

Subject: Re: [CWSG] Pwer noise from laptop Audio out

Purchased an M Audio Axiom 61 midi controller and all is good in getting up
and running with Cantabile. Remaining issue is the amount of power related
noise in the audio out from the laptop. It disappears if I run the laptop on
battery only but this is not an ideal alternative at a 4 hour gig.

Hadn't noticed it before when output to the built in speakers of a keyboard
but now connected to a Fender guitar amp via stereo to mono adaptor the
noise is too loud to gig with. Anyone had a similar problem and found a
solution?

Thanks

Mark
