Thanks, that's the first real feedback I've gotten ! I do believe the Nord Stage 2 has solved most of your E3 concerns though it is $1500. more than the Sk1but only $700. more than the SK2 --I have a few months to decide--:) Thanks again !

I've only had the SK1 a little over a week but I can give you some first reactions. To put this in context I had an XK1 and still own a Nord E3, both of which I think are excellent. As with the XK1 I think the organ sound of the SK1 is more authentic than the Nord (and the Nord is really good). Also I am much happier with drawbars. The keyboard feels great and the C/V set up is an improvement. The sim sounds good but I prefer the Ventilator and the Ventilator's overdrive is unbeatable. I was pleasantly surprised by the extra sounds, they're more extensive and better than I expected. I've never had much success with the Nord piano and e-piano sounds at stage volume, something with the attack. The SK1 may work out better. Perhaps because of another big difference, most of the SK1's parameters are adjustable including multiple vintage tone wheel sets. Also the organ and extra sounds can be layered or played side by side on a split keyboard. I am finding
that along with the flexibility comes a bit of a learning curve. Navigating between the manual registrations, program patches, program registrations, favorites, and extra sounds for me is not that intuitive. You can however set up 10 Favorite buttons that are easily accessible and probably sufficient for live playing. Anyway, overall so far for me the SK1 is a winner.

Off the subject, but, once again, I see many are picking up the Sk1's but I still have not seen a user review on this forum? Any opinions would be appreciated-I am thinking about picking up the Sk2 when available--

Thank you for the link. I was following the same procedure as the guy who was able to load v2 but his comment about having a problem with his new USB3 drive prompted me to dig up and old drive and try that which worked. So it looks like the SK1 doesn't like SanDisk Cruze drives. Anyway, thanks again.

Jay
