Subject:Re: Midi Controllers

As far as I know CME still makes a 76 key controller with 9 sliders, multiple knobs/buttons, etc.; it's called the UF70 Classic.  But YMMV with that one, as the UF70's history with players seems to be a love/hate thing.  Steve Nathan is still listed as a CME endorsed artist, and from comments made on the Keyboard Corner Forum it sounds like the UF80 has worked out fine for him. (IIRC he has the 88 key model).  But reading the posts a few years back on CME's user forum caused enough concern that I switched my order at Sweetwater from a CME UF70 to an Edirol PCR800, which has been trouble free.  Problem is, it's 61 keys.  Edirol, Akai, Novation, and M-Audio don't make a 73/76 currently.  There is the VAX77, but at just shy of $3000 it's pricey.   You could try a UF70, as the control features/specs are impressive; but I'd be sure that the dealer from whom you purchase has a liberal return/product credit policy.
