Subject:Re: VB3 Controller

Fox,

Personally, I would stay away from the M-Audio controllers for VB3, primarily because of the drawbars.. if you look at my other posts re the importance of the drawbars when choosing a controller, the M-Audio controller fader/sliders are spread much too far apart to grab them with one hand, AND if I recall correctly they have a shorter thow (distance of travel) than real drawbars, so they are not the best for use as a Hammond organ controller.

That said, when using one of these generic controllers with VB3 there are a lot of compromises.. and everyone has different priorities... But from my perspective, I still prefer my edirol PCR-800, and if I was not able to find it I would look at one of the newer cakewalk/roland controllers.

Nice keyboard feel, and slider/faders that feel very close to real drawbars. These things are important to me, but this is my opinon only.. there is no right/wrong answer here.

Regards,
Craig MacDonald

Just noticed that Sweetwater has an M-Audio Oxygen 49 on sale for a
hundred bucks as part of their "8 Days of Black Friday" sale. Guess
that's 1/2 MSRP. http://www.sweetwat er.com/store/ detail/Oxygen2- 49

9 sliders with 10 banks...9 buttons...8 knobs...looks interesting.
Anyone have any experience with this controller? I'm thinking about
jumping into VB3 and this one looks like it could do what needs to be
done to control a faux b-3.
