Subject:Re: Leslie Clone Shootout?
What sets the Vent apart from every other pedal or internal sim (besides its nice warm Overdrive) I have heard is the mic distance knob. This gives amazing control over the Leslie sounds amplitude modulation from smooth jazz Leslie to throbbing Steppenwolf BTBW.
The Vent trumps the two other Leslie pedals I have tried with organ or clonewheel . The Vent sounded way less digitally processed and much more natural and real Leslie-like the Behringer RM600 and the Line6 Rotomachine pedals, particularly on fast/tremolo. This also probably contributes to the superiority of the Vent's OD sound as well. IMO of the two pedals mentioned, the cheaper Behringer RM600 sounded better with Hammond organ than the Line 6, but it has a 2 second speed switching delay which makes it very distracting for live performance.
