Subject:Re: The Behringer Challenge
I play in a band that uses one of the 6 channel Behringer mixers, I am not sure of the model number but it has vinyl covering and is very light weight.
I have seen this thing do about every type of gig and sound great at all of them for over 2 years. It's still going strong. The bandleader said he paid about 200 dolaars for it brand new.
Its much better and more dependable than a powered Mackie board that a band I was in used to ue... that thing overheated all the time. And I once heard an XK3 through some powered Mackies that were shrill as hell.
I really liked the powered Harbinger speakers that Guitar Center sells that I demoed with my Numa... those are some of the best speakers I have heard with the Numa. The bass particularly sounds good through the Harbingers, and the power level is sufficient.
I am all for affordable audio versus boutique gear. I haven't been tempted lately by any overly priced tube preamps or anything of that sort. The speakers and whatever its source is can sound just fine without the expensive hoopla.
