Subject:KeyB organ Expander Module plus dual manual controller?
The thing that jumps out at me, when I look at this generic KeyB controller and the tabletop Expander Module, is that it doesn't look to me as if there is any room to sit the KeyB Duo Expander module on top of the double manual controller...? The top of the controller looks to be less then half the depth of the double manual controller module which, based on my limited understanding of gravity, would suggest it's going to fall off...?
I certainly hope that the double manual controller keyboard has some kind of attachment that allows the KeyB Duo expander module (or some other module for that matter) to sit firmly on top.. If not, it's going to require an additional stand, or something, to fix the expander module in a convenient position for the player, and that's not going to be a particularly elegant configuration.
I have to say that I'm a little puzzled by these two products for the following reasons:
1. By releasing module/double manual controller option won't this eat into sales of the KeyB duo organ (although it probably won't if there isn't some easy way to attach the module firmly to the top of the controller)
2. Who is the target audience for the module? If the target audience for the module is the BX3/VK77/VK88 owners (selling this as a way to improve their sound) they really didn't need to include the drawbars. If the target audience is the average gigging keyboard player, who just wants some good hammond sounds, I don't think they needed to include two sets of drawbars.
I think there's a healthy market for the double manual controller for use with laptops/VB3, I can also see it being used with a modules like a VK8M, Voce modules etc, and I can see it being used simply as a midi controller with rack synths or a laptop+VST's. But I'm struggling a bit with this KeyB Expander Module, especially if it doesn't fit on top of their own controller...
