Subject:Re: C2 high level output

The high-level output probably sends something around 10-30V, which is
what classic Leslies need for input drive. The Vent only needs about 1V.

Short term, it probably won't damage the Vent -- but you'll have to turn
the C2's volume WAY down -- but I'd be concerned about longer term
effects. I don't recommend this.

One way around this would be to put an attenuator cable or pad in the
line, or a passive mixer. Attenuator cables that use 1/4" jacks aren't
very common, but XLR attenuator pads are easy to find at places like
MarkerTek or B&H Photo. I would recommend a 20dB or 30dB pad. If you
got a pair of 1/4"-to-XLR cables, one with a male XLR and the other a
female, you could mount the attenuator in the middle and have a
'special' cable for the organ output. Some DI boxes also provide
attenuation.

Why does the C2 have a 1/4" input that sends out 10+ volts? I guess to
make it easier to connect to a Leslie interface that uses some other
pinout (6- or 9-pin). There are a bunch of Leslie 'kits' made over the
years.
