performance don't use it as a laptop!

That it is to say don't install games, don't surf the Internet on it,
don't watch films. Work out what software you want on it, such as VB3
and your DAWs, do a clean XP/W7 install, install your software, go
through the standard "audio optimisation for laptops" routines you can
find the Internet, and then leave the laptop alone after that if you
can help it.
