Subject:Re: 24 Hours with my NUMA!!
Thomas,
Thanks for the response.. yes you are correct the sustain/leslie switch issue is internal to the NUMA so it's not going to be corrected with a midi events processor, and plugging a second sustain pedal directly into ths synth isn't possible because it's just a synth module with no direct pedal input. However, I might be able to solve this with a midi merge box and the footswitch controller box, as you have suggested, and that's a very good idea. Thanks!!
For the moment I am going to just leave things as they are.. I have resolved the expression issue by simply turning receive expression off in all of my synth performances.. and the leslie switching thing is really a minor annoyance, and I'll just lay off the sustain pedal. In reality, when I'm playing both organ and piano simultaneously in my classic rock band I'm generally wailing away and the piano sustain get's lost in the mix anyway so I just won't bother using the sustain pedal, except when absolutely necessary.
Tonight will be my first performance with the NUMA, and if it sounds as good as I expect it will, I'm going to pick up a synth workstation as my second keyboard to cover off piano/ep etc.. once I do this, I won't have the same issue with sustain/leslie switch because the synth will have it's own sustain pedal. So I'll probably just live with this minor annoyance for a couple of gigs.
Thomas thanks again for the suggestions! I will keep the group posted on how the gig goes tonight with the new NUMA!!
