I've done that many times - in reverse. I have molded earplugs from the
audiologist, over which I just wear an inexpensive pair of Sony behind-the neck
headphones that are plugged into my keyboard amp. This works extremely well, and
certainly looks better in live performance situations than decidedly inelegant
big suppression cans.
