Unfortunately, the modification cannot be reversed once it's been done.

If you're looking for a 'random' one, you need to be searching for an
older Vent. I'm not sure of the exact serial number cut-over, but you
would definitely want one sold before August of 2010.

I actually debated on changing my personal Vent for a while, for exactly
the same reason: a desire for more randomness. However, I now find the
stop-in-front feature a definite plus. (As much as the purist in me
thinks the random stop is 'correct,' I do remember reaching around to
manually adjust the horn during songs on my Leslie.)

Also, just as an FYI: The original Ventilator Stop algorithm went from
Tremolo, to Chorale for a few seconds, then to stop. This is something
that some of the '70s CBS Leslies did, but it's not part of the Leslie
21h or 31h. This was removed in the newer software. So, one might
argue that the new software is closer to the original in most aspects.

I'm still on the fence of picking one of these up (right now it's financial rather than soundwise) but if I need to grab one before they all have the mod done I better get shuffling funds around, or is this something that can be reversed later? To me it's gonna be a deal breaker if I lose that random stop thing.
