Yep, I know Wersi organs since the late 70s. I grew up in Germany. Didn't like them back then. It's funny that the Wersi organs are centered around a Hammond-ish drawbar sound (they call it sine-wave sound), since the top models clearly come from the theatre pipe organs of the 20s and 30s.
Perhaps the inventors opted to emulate the Hammond (they even made leslie clones and later early analog sims) because their big "stars" performing on and promoting the Wersi top models: Klaus Wundrlich and Franz Lambert (and even Jimmy Smith for a short period in the early 80s) - all came from real Hammond organs.
To be honest: this is not my style of music. The sampled brass in big chords sounds cheezy and please don't get me started on the rhythm patterns. They are completely outdated. There is a lot of unintended humor in Wersi organ playing by their "star performers" (with apoligies to them - it is just my own taste). I guess those organs are perfect for wedding and party gigs.
If I want to hear someone play a popular tune on an organ with a very rich and complex arrangement - I watch Jelani Eddington playing real theatre pipe organs such as the Wurlitzer. The basic idea is (except for the Hammond bits complete with glissandi and wipes) the same - but, man those old pipe organs are a million times more beautiful for my ears. And there are fantastic digital emulations as well (from Hauptwerk - not exactly cheap though...)
