Actually, Simon is right: 'skipping the light fandango; is a play on
the term, "tripping the light fantastic," which is kind of an expression
for 'having a wonderful time.' But I'm right, too: the '60s were full
of trip-y terms, regardless of whether the writer was actually under the
influence or not.

Trivia: In the cult movie The Commitments, the keyboard player and band
manager are playing and singing on the church's pipe organ ...

Guys (singing): We skipped the light fantastic, and turned cartwheels
'cross the floor ...
Priest (from a distance): Fandango!
Guys: Uhh, Father???
Priest: It's the 'light Fandango." I have the record.
