Subject:New Mebmer introduction

Hi All.

I am a bassplayer that has had a love affair with the Hammond organ since 1992 when I heard a guy here in Sweden play the B3. His name is Pierre Swärdh and he is a killer organist.

I bought an L100 that I spent many years tweaking trying to make it sound like a B3. I think i changed everything you can change except for adding fold back. In the end it sounded pretty good. I also worked for a period reparing Hammonds for others.

From 1997 to 2007 I was organless. Then my gf found a yamaha electone in the garbage room where she lived. I started to play agian.
Shortly after I found the Nord C1 and thought - finally a good clone.

Living in Sweden and knowing what a B should sound like I pointed out a few things to the Guys at Nord. One of my suggestions been implemented in the C2 and that is the note off click.

I found Vb3 and has used the Leslie simulation quite a lot and when I compare the sound of the Nord C2 and the VB3 they are both very nice.

I have built my own drawbars setup for the Nord C2 and this really transformed it into a very playable setup

Latest buy is an XB3 - I have been playing quite a lot of gospel lately and started a cooperation with a Pastor here in Gothenburg and we try to do it the American way. Me playing behind his sermon.
In this situation I want the physical appearance of the big B3. The Nord sounds better than the XB3 but the XB3 sounds good enough and looks right. It also has the 4 sets of drawbars and the preset reverse color keys. A big 25 pedalkeyboard just as an ol B

For my Nord I use a modified studiologic mp117 where I have lengthened the white keys so i can heal and toe.

I have a leslie 145 and a motion sound pro3x + a leslie 110.

The Nord C2, Mp117, drawbarbox (one for each manual) and Motion sound pro 3x plus a bassamp is a perfect rig for rehearsals. Light and easy to move.

When it is more important i bring the Leslie 145 and in combination with the motion sound i get a dual leslie sound.

In really important gospel setups i bring the xb3 that can be taken apart and with some work goes into my Citroen Berlingo (the leaslie has to go on the trailer)

Nice to find a news group for us that use clones.

As far as I am concerned dollar for dollar pound for pound Nord C2 is the best choice at the moment.

I have not had the chance to test the SK-2 yet - This is a real contender to the Nord since it has 1 set of drawbars and the vintage pianos.
