The first combo organ I ever owned was a Melosonic. I used it for 2-3
years, then traded up to a Farfisa. ;-)
In addition to the shared oscillators (every 3 keys, IIRC) the Melosonic
organs had another unique feature: Rather than using buss bars and
remote oscillators, each key contact completed the circuit for the
shared oscillator. When the contacts got dirty, they didn't get
scratchy -- they started to warble. (Think, EVH or Steve Vai on a
really wild whammy bar solo.) After the organ was a couple of years
old, it used to happen all the time on gigs. I was always popping the
top and cleaning contacts.
